11 Alison-OUAS

This month over at OUAS the sketch challenge was to document something related to home. For me this hit hard as I am at the very end of resolving the dissolution of my childhood home after my mom's passing last year. It has been incredibly difficult to come to terms with the knowledge that I can no longer go "home" for a break or to visit mom.
This was home for over forty years.
You can see my trailer on the left as I moved my mother's belongings out. In front of the house to the left by the window is a lantern my parents had put in many many years ago and whenever one of us was out the lantern stayed on until we were safely  home. I remember my mom flicking the lantern on and off whenever my date brought me home, her way of saying okay no funny business time to come in! I have a very diffcult time sharing my feelings about saying goodbye so I hid the journaling on the back so that one day my children can read my thoughts. To this day I have been unable to return to this street to 11 Alison Avenue in Cambridge instead I choose to close my eyes and remember home in my heart. I added the DA lantern even though it wasn't in the sketch as it holds so much meaning to me!
A close-up of my flower cluster. Thanks for looking and taking a trip down memory lane with me. Have a terrific weekend!

Isla Skye Prima April BAP

This is my darling granddaughter Isla Skye on her first Birthday! Isla is so good natured and Lord that smile! We had such a great time with her. I used Prima's Songbird Collection that came in my LE Kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This was the first time I used Resist Canvas (the birds on the right) and have to say I was really pleased with the way it came out. I am such a chicken at trying new things afraid that I  might destroy something but I think it turned out nicely.
A closeup of some of the flowers I used from the same line as well as the bling in the corner. The blue bird is one of the resist pieces I used. First  I sprayed it with Perfect Pearls Mist-Blue Patina and then when dry I painted over it lightly with some Blingz -under the sea.
One last closeup! TFL and have an awesome day!

My Girl

This is one of my all time favourite picture of my oldest grandchild Lilly. She was 2 1/2 at the time and we were waiting for mommy to get ready to go to the hospital to have her little sister! Bo Bunny's Country Garden was the perfect match for this shot.

Prima flowers mixed with my own using a tutorial from Gabrielle Pollacco. The tutorial can be found on her blog .

More of my handmade flowers.
I love love love Bo Bunny's line of trinkets! They are so versatile and are the perfect something extra on any page. Have a great weekend!

Flower Girl-My Creative Scrapbook

This is a picture of my oldest daughter Ashley when she was only four years old! Oh so many years ago. She was the flower girl in my sister's wedding. I remember how excited she was to get her hair done and have a princess dress and "clicky" shoes, aboslutely adorable! I used the LE kit from My Creative Scrapbooking Kit Club.

I chose to use alot of flowers given the nature of the layout. The chippie is cherry blossom from Dusty Attic.
